International Women’s Day: The feminist fight for economic justice

Join us on Saturday, March 9th for a women-only discussion and film screening to mark International Women’s Day.  Doors will open at 11:00AM and event starts at 11:30AM. We will screen the 2023 documentary, It’s Basic, which looks at various cities in the U.S. that implemented basic income pilot projects. The film “explores the power of cash, the importance of dignity, and the ongoing work of providing an income floor through the eyes of guaranteed income recipients who have witnessed firsthand the life-altering effects of financial stability.” We will discuss the Canadian context and how women in particular are impacted by economic scarcity and precarity.
